Life is Only as Dark as the Glass You View it From

Today, I sat at a traffic light marveling at a garbage truck. I didn’t see it as an intrusion on my access to the morning sun, I didn’t get upset at its mere presence because I somehow felt entitled to have my bit of road to myself. I remembered that this is actually a magnificent piece of engineering that makes all of our lives better each day, and it make me feel good to be alive. It reminded me that life is only as dark as the glass I view it from.

It was one of those brief, fleeting moments that you wish someone would have taken a picture of. A brief aside, a reflection on the day, the week, the life… Summation, and a sigh. No-one did take that picture, but then, that picture would mean nothing unless you could attach 10 years of memories to it.
